Why are we doing this study?

We want to study the spread of cytomegalovirus (CMV) within early education and care centers. We hope to learn about how to decrease the spread of CMV within your communities.

Why should you participate?

By participating, you will be able to learn more about the risk of CMV in your family's life and help protect your community. Findings from this research will be used to understand CMV better.

What does this study ask you to do?

Participating in this study involves:

  • Taking an online eligibility assessment.
  • Completing an online survey about your child and their household.
  • Allowing your child to provide a saliva sample.

The CMV TransmIT Study is entering a new stage! 

  • We are expanding the types of viruses and redesigning the study to include a new name:  Infectious Disease Tracking and Community Empowerment in Research (IDTraCER) Study

  • Watch for updates on our progress and how you can learn about participating in the study through your center.
